Henry was the Host and he was super friendly especially under the circumstances of hundreds of people converging on the Big Sky Resort for The Rut race 3-day weekend. Heather is the greatest waitress. Our friends were running a little late after spending time fishing on the Madison and she completely understood they would be exhausted and not needing anything but TLC. You should definitely call for reservations. The Bartender was awesome. We got a few questions answered which resulted in awesome margaritas and An Old Fashion that was very good. The bread was warm and yummy. They had a bean hummus which was deeeelish. We got salads dry and shared. Plenty for both of us. Also got spaghetti and meatballs. That was very flavorful. Could have used more red sauce because it was very good. If you go, ask to be in Heather's section because she was an amazing Waitress!

This was a wonderful dining experience. I had a delicious Caprése salad for lunch. Bob had "the best sandwich ever" - Tuscan ham with a terrific zest of aioli, Cajun style on Focciacia bread. Marcie really enjoyed her Sauvignon Blanc that paired wonderfully with her calamari. We will come back to test out their dinner menu. It was fun to meet Mike, the executive chef. He really knows what he's doing! Come join us!!

I had a nice dinner here the other night. The service was very good and my server was very friendly. My football team had just beaten his soundly and he still gave me good service. I started with a green salad. It was alright, but nothing special. It did not have too much dressing. My main course was a scallop and shrimp piccata. I like this dish a lot and it came out nice and warm. It had good flavor and I would order it again. I finished with Tiramisu. This one was moist and had the right blend of chocolate and marscarpone. I would also order this again. I like their wine list. Since i was by myself, I was looking at wines by the glass. They had a good selection for a fair price. Over all, my dinner was very satisfying and I would come again. Since they have this conference here every other year, I am looking forward to a return visit.

Decided to give this place a second chance... 5 of us sat at two pushed together tables in the bar area. The restaurant was fairly busy but there wasn't a ton of people in the bar area (plenty of tables available). When the waiter/bartender finally came around to us he was incredibly rude. He took our drink order (5 of the same thing) and since we told him we were planning to order pizza he would finish up with some other people before getting back to us. Mind you... We were ready to order our pizza (that we cant eat there), but were not given the opportunity. We canceled our drink order and left. A different hostess confirmed that we can't eat the pizza we purchased there... There... And also said it was a stupid policy.

Great Italian food and even better pizza. The pizza is only carry out but they have a delicious gluten free crust. The dinner we had at Andiamos was fabulous and the service was great. I had a gluten free pasta and my family had similar pasta dishes. I would definitely make reservations. Would highly recommend eating dinner here

Mixed review. Service excellent. Very nice room. Chicken Saltimboca...excellent Shrimp & Scallop Piccata...excellent but too little risotto (made for a better presentation, but was inadequate for a satisfactory meal) Lasagna...sauce was too spicy for two of us (bring Tums), otherwise OK. Tatonka Arrabiatta...buyer beware. Way too hot peppery, even when asked for it as mild as possible. Carbonara...changed the recipe from last year. This year's version described as having no flavor. Was rejected by the diner.

Andiamo Italian Grille is a great place to have lunch. Located at base camp, lots of windows allow the natural sunlight into the dining room displaying scenic views of the slopes. Start your dining experience with an order of garlic knots made from the house-made pizza dough baked to perfection, brushed with butter and sprinkled with parmesan and chopped basil. Break the garlic knot open and dip it into the hearty, chunky marinara sauce. The Vegan Pasta Fagioli Soup is a very hearty soup, almost stew-like with tomato fillets, cannellini beans, garlic, onion, herbs, and penne pasta. This is definitely a soup for a cold, snowy day. It's rib-sticking and will keep you warm. Bistecca Ciabatta Panini is sliced tri-tip steak, gorgonzola, shaved red onion, red leaf lettuce, and roasted garlic spread served on toasted Italian slipper bread. The perfect combination of flavors and textures from the tender beefy tri-tip to the creamy gorgonzola to the crisp fresh red onions. The hearty Ciabatta bread will give you energy for a day hike or afternoon of skiing on the slopes. They also have a line of specialty sodas including Italian sodas, pure cane Coca Cola products, Henry Weinhard's Root Beer and Cream Soda, and Cock 'n Bull Ginger Beer.

This was a five star meal with five star service. Kevin, our server, was incredible. He was attentive, informative, and simply an enjoyable person to have serving our table. We came with a party of 7 and everything was handled speedily and with class. This is by far the best restaurant I have dined at within Big Sky Resort, both based on food and service. Each one of us remarked on how delicious our meals were, and my entire party was talking about wishing we had discovered it earlier in our trip to Big Sky. We were truly surprised by how great this place was. As they say, top drawer!

It is beyond me that anyone would walk into this place and expect to be able to order and eat a pizza here. The decor is too nice for that. And the menu has so many wonderful dishes to offer, I don't understand how pizza ever crosses anyone's mind. The service is wonderful, but you will have to wait because the food is cooked to order and the dishes are complex. Our server was able to tell us more about the wine offerings than I've ever experienced at a ski resort restaurant and he guided us toward the dishes that were clearly his favorite, regardless of relative price. The food was the best I've had in a long time at a ski resort (maybe ever) and the entire dining experience was thoroughly enjoyed by my entire family.

My adult sons and I had dinner at Andiamos on a recent ski trip. We enjoyed the signature cocktails. The entrees (shrimp and scallop piccata and lamb salsiccia) we very flavorful, well prepared and nicely presented. We also shared a chocolate dessert that was a perfect finishing touch. Service was good on a busy night. It was one of the best meals we have ever had on our many annual ski trips. Pricey but a good value for the money.

Service was outstanding and very accommodating! Tables were full, but the manager offered us a seat at the bar. I like sitting at the bar anyway, so we said sure. Pizza was good, bartender was awesome! Nice place!

Aweful service, the worst I've ever experienced. My experience: got to the bar, which was roughly 50% full and waited for a considerable amount of time. Asking the bartender what was on tap, he spouts back in a derogatory tone "Seriously, You've Been Here For 20 Minutes And You Havent Looked At The Taps?!" Needless to say, we went elsewhere.

Service is very poor- mediocre pizza took at least 50min, not 30. 3 servers didn't know what the other people were doing when we asked where our food was, kept waiting ad was finally told it would take another 10 min., not customer-oriented in any way. Our friends complained about their lunch experience. When seated outside, they asked if someone could move the umbrella since the sun had moved during their 3 hr. lunch and was told, "oh... It's a process...". When asked abt the beer selection, oh, it's okay I guess..."

They have the best outside tables on the mountain but can't serve more the 8 people at a time. And will tell u so. So self serve yourself a beer from the bartender grab a table outside (if u can find a hostess) order pizza and salads as soon as u see a waiter and give your kids money for the gold search or bungy jump. Don't come here if u r really hungry or need your food within an hour. Summer review. Maybe they have a chef and staff in winter. This is not an abnormal review. They will tell u themselves that they are fully booked with one table full in giant restaurant. Food is very good if u get it! It's just run by people who don't care about profit and getting food out. Plus side is u can sit and relax because no one is going to need your table.

Best lunch at the mountain on the weekends and a good dinner spot as well. Reasonably priced with a decent wine list.

The service really carried this review. Bartender, waitstaff and hostesses were all funny and super nice. Overpriced, for sure, but it is on a resort in the middle of ski season. Atmosphere was nice, the menus were super cheesy (silhouette of a mobster). The food was very good. Bread basket with white bean purée (delicious) and eggplant Parmesan. The herb roasted chicken was super tasty but the risotto was under cooked. Not many choices in big sky village so (unfortunately) go and overpay here, it's better than most.

I keep hearing good things about Andiamo's, but have yet to see what the fuss is about. I have been twice, both times with groups of 6-8 people. We all ordered different menu items and shared them on both occasions, so I feel like I've had a decent opportunity to find that one all-star item on the menu. Alas, I cannot say one exists and find all of the fare about average. It's neither bad, nor inspiring. To further complicate things, I have not found it to be consistent either. I'm not sure how minestrone, a staple on their menu, can be made so differently (one was sans beans), but they manage to do it here. If you must have Italian then this is going to be your best bet. Otherwise, check out some of my other Big Sky reviews for other options.

We spent a whole week at Big Sky Resort and struggled all week to find a more than decent restaurant for the family to eat at... We settled on Andiamo on our last night. I wish we had gone earlier in the week because we would have gone back at least one more time! The food was fantastic... We started with Octopus salad (recommend it), my wife had a Tuna special that could win all kinds of awards and I had the angry sauce with pasta and italian sausage...pretty close to perfect! We had a nice recommended bottle of Italian wine and the kids were treated to a yummy pizza and lasagna. It's smaller than it looks from the outside so it's kind of cozy, make reservations. Our server Anna was spot on! We plan on returning to Big Sky soon and we will put Andiamo at the top of our list.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
